Board Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner

Certified Sexuality Counselor

“My goals when providing care to my patients are to educate, empower, and interact. I strive to provide education on women’s health, sexual health, and reproductive health. I want to empower my patients to feel comfortable being an advocate for themselves and take command of their bodies and the decisions that are made about them. I think honest and open communication and interaction is very important. I love when my patients ask questions, because that’s the only way I can learn what they need to know. No judgments, just answers.”

FAQ

Answers to common questions about care, access, and what to expect.

What type of care do you provide?

I provide specialized sexual health and reproductive care for women. This includes sexual health counseling, perimenopause/postmenopause counseling and treatment, birth control counseling, and diagnosis and treatment of urgent and simple infections.

What is sexual health counseling?

Sexual health counselors are specially trained professionals, usually in the medical field, who provide a comfortable environment to discuss sexual concerns openly, educate clients, and offer specific suggestions related to the concern. They are trained to address many sexual health issues, including:

  • Low sexual desire
  • Pain with sex
  • Questions about sexuality and sexual practices
  • Inability to orgasm
  • Difficulty with arousal
  • Sexual concerns related to perimenopause or menopause

They also serve as sexual health educators.

What should I expect during my first sexual health counseling visit?

Your first visit is important to help understand and develop an action plan for your sexual health goals. This may include:

  • Collecting medical history and important social history
  • Discussing past or future relationships, medications, and/or medical conditions
  • Discussing specifics of current concerns
  • Education about sexual health
  • Medication prescription as needed

Many sexual health problems can be resolved with short-term, focused counseling; you should expect anywhere between 1–5 visits.

Do you accept insurance?

Currently, I do not accept commercial or state insurance. I can provide you with a detailed invoice (often called a “superbill”) that you can submit to your insurance company or HSA account through your employer for possible reimbursement.

This practice is committed to providing care to all individuals, regardless of their ability to pay. A sliding scale fee program is available to ensure access to essential healthcare services for those who qualify.

  • Discounts are based on household size, income, and other eligibility factors
  • Examples of eligibility include Medicaid enrollment or Social Security income

If you would like to learn more or see if you qualify, please mention this during your discovery call or prior to your first paid session.

What states do you see patients in?

Currently, I will see patients for sexual health counseling and women’s health care in Massachusetts.
